From Box to Tap: A Visual Step-by-Step Guide to Installing Your AquaTru Under Sink System

Say hello to cleaner, fresher water with the AquaTru Under Sink Reverse Osmosis System! This compact, stylish unit fits under your sink and delivers pure water straight from your kitchen tap. Installing this system is a fantastic way to boost your home's water quality and to ensure your family enjoys the best. Our detailed visual guide is designed to make the installation straightforward and hassle-free, ensuring you can set up your system with confidence and ease.

While many homeowners are fully capable of installing the AquaTru system on their own, we highly recommend that a trained professional plumber handle the installation. This ensures everything is set up correctly and efficiently, safeguarding your warranty. Incorrect installation can cause problems and even void the warranty. Whether you're a DIY pro or prefer calling in an expert, our guide is here to help you every step, ensuring you get the purest water possible.

Ready to begin? First, double-check that you have all the necessary components. The AquaTru system includes a versatile cold water adapter compatible with half- and 3/8-inch connectors. Ensure you have the right tools by consulting the owner's manual for a detailed list and instructions. Now, let's gear up for the installation journey! With all tools and components ready, join us as we simplify the process into clear, manageable steps.

Let's create a splash in your kitchen with every turn of the wrench!

1. Prepare the Installation Area

Start by clearing the area under your sink and removing any cleaning supplies or obstructions. This space must be accessible and clean, as you will install various filtration system components there.

2. Turn Off the Water Supply

Identify the cold water supply valve, usually under the sink, and turn it to the closed position. This prevents water flow and allows you to work safely. After shutting off the valve, open your faucet to release any remaining pressure and water in the lines, ensuring a dry workspace.

3. Install the Tap Water Adapter

Connect the white tubing that comes with your system to the tap water adapter. Secure this adapter to your cold-water valve. To avoid leaks, wrap the threads of the connections with Teflon tape before tightening. This step is crucial for maintaining a secure and efficient water flow to your system.

4. Set Up the Drain Connection

You must drill a hole in your drainpipe to attach the drain line from the RO system. Place the self-adhesive sponge around this hole to cushion and seal the connection, preventing water leakage. Ensuring this seal is tight and secure is vital for system functionality and to avoid water damage under your sink.

5. Install the RO Faucet

If there isn't a pre-existing hole in your countertop for the RO faucet, you'll need to drill one. Carefully position the faucet, insert it through the hole, and tighten the fittings from underneath the sink. Ensure all connections are secure, but remember not to overtighten them to avoid damaging the fixtures.

6. Connect Tubing and Test the System

Arrange and connect the tubing according to the system's layout plan, including lines from the water supply to the faucet and the system to the drain. Once all tubing is connected, thoroughly check each joint and connection for leaks by running water through the system. Address any leaks immediately to ensure system integrity.

7. Activate and Flush the System

With the installation complete, turn the water supply back on to fill the system's storage tank, which might take a few hours. Once filled, flush the system as per the manufacturer's instructions. This initial flushing removes any impurities from the filters and ensures the water quality is up to standard for drinking.

If our visual guide isn't quite enough, there's more help. We've got a comprehensive installation video on YouTube that walks you through the process step-by-step. It's a great way to see exactly how everything fits together in real time.

Congratulations on taking this vital step toward healthier water with your AquaTru system!
