Understanding AquaTru Filters: Types, Benefits, and Compatibility

Understanding AquaTru Filters: Types, Benefits, and Compatibility

Water purity is a top concern for people worldwide. As worries about pollutants in municipal water rise, many households are now turning to water filtration systems. AquaTru stands out in this market with its advanced reverse osmosis technology that ensures clean and safe drinking water.

This blog delves into the unique features and benefits of AquaTru’s water filtration systems, spotlighting their diverse models and pioneering technology.

AquaTru’s Innovative Filtration Technology

AquaTru’s exclusive four-stage filtration process ensures top-notch water quality:

  • Stage 1 & 2: Pre-Carbon Filter: combines the removal of larger particles like sediment and bacteria with the elimination of chlorine tastes and smells for a pure initial filtration step.
  • Stage 3: Reverse Osmosis Filter: water passes through a reverse osmosis membrane, stripping away complex pollutants such as drug residues and heavy metals.
  • Stage 4: Activated Coconut Carbon Filter: this final stage uses coconut fibre carbon to refine the water’s flavour, making it refreshing and delightful.

The Pre-Carbon filter serves as both the first and second stages of filtration. It effectively captures bacteria, sediment, and larger particulates while the activated carbon component eliminates any potential chlorine odours and tastes, ensuring the removal of the largest particles and helping to prevent bacterial growth.

Filter Lifespan

AquaTru filter longevity varies by type and model:

The Classic Model

The Carafe Model

Under Sink Model

The Under Sink model lacks the electronic monitoring found in countertop versions, contributing to its lower cost. To manage the lifespan of your filters effectively, we advise marking the installation date on each filter using a permanent marker. Alternatively, setting up reminders in your calendar can also help track when it's time to replace the filters.

  • Pre/Carbon Filter after 6 months.
  • Carbon VOC Filter after one year.
  • Reverse Osmosis Filter after two years.

Alkaline vs. Regular VOC Filters

AquaTru provides two versions of VOC filters, each catering to different water preferences:

pH+ Mineral Boost Alkaline VOC Filter

This filter enriches the water by adding essential minerals such as calcium, potassium, magnesium, and sodium, effectively increasing the water's alkalinity and boosting the pH to above 7 for its entire lifespan. This process produces water with a rich mineral flavour, reminiscent of well-known brands like Evian and Arrowhead.

Here are the specific minerals the Alkaline filter introduces:

Potassium

1 mg/l

Magnesium

20 mg/l

Calcium

0.5 mg/l

Sodium

0 mg/l

Bicarbonate

3 mg/l

Please note: The quantities mentioned are averages. The actual amount of minerals released can vary depending on the filter's age and the quality of the incoming water.

Regular VOC Filter

This filter eliminates impurities without adding minerals, producing water with a neutral pH close to 7, comparable in taste to brands like Aquafina or SmartWater. For those who prefer water without minerals, this filter is ideal, and you have the option to add Perfect Minerals if desired.

Filter Compatibility

When choosing filters, it’s crucial to understand their compatibility:

The Classic and Under Sink models share identical filters, which are clearly marked. The Carafe model, however, requires a different set of filters unique from those used in the Classic and Under Sink models.

Ensure compatibility by considering these essential features:

Opening

  • For the Classic and Under Sink models, the filter opening is positioned at the bottom.
  • For the Carafe model, the filter opening is at the top.

Size

Filters are tailored to fit each model precisely, with smaller filters designed for the compact Carafe and larger ones intended for the Classic and Under Sink models.

Labeling

Our website features distinct labeling on each filter, simplifying the selection process to ensure you choose the right filter for your needs and continue enjoying fresh, excellent-tasting water.
