Meet the refreshed AquaTru Classic display

If you already know the AquaTru Classic, you know it for its reliability. It quietly turns ordinary tap water into clean, great-tasting water, reducing up to 99% of harmful contaminants with its 4-stage Ultra Reverse Osmosis filtration. That part has not changed, but what has changed is the way the Classic talks to you.

The new AquaTru Classic display is a design refresh that makes everyday use even clearer. This update uses the same filtration system and filters, so your water tastes just as pure as before. The biggest difference lies in how you can interact with it.

Same trusted Classic, clearer communication

Think of the new display as the Classic learning a new language. The previous control panel relied mainly on numbers to show which filter needed attention. It worked, but you had to remember which number matched each filter.

The updated design swaps those numbers for easy-to-read symbols that mirror the individual filters. Instead of thinking “filter 3”, you see a symbol that represents the reverse osmosis membrane. Instead of “filter 4”, you spot the icon for the VOC carbon filter. It feels more intuitive, especially if you are new to reverse osmosis systems or you simply prefer visual cues over codes.

Behind that panel, the 4-stage filtration process is unchanged. Pre-carbon filtration, reverse osmosis and VOC carbon filtration still work together to reduce contaminants such as lead, PFAS, fluoride and microplastics.

A closer look at the new display

A quick glance at the updated control panel tells you everything you need to know. The new symbols sit clearly on the front of the unit and make it easy to spot which filter needs changing, when to empty and refill the tap water tank, and when the system would benefit from a descale.

Seeing the two displays together helps show what has changed. The filtration technology remains the same. It is simply a more intuitive, friendlier way for the Classic to communicate with you during day-to-day use.

From numbers to symbols

Why focus on symbols at all? Because most of us interact with our water filter in quick moments. You refill the tap water tank between cooking steps. Sometimes you glance at the panel while making a cup of tea. Or you reach for the dispenser while holding a baby in one arm. In those small windows, a clear symbol is much easier to understand than a code.

On the new AquaTru Classic display, you see three key types of information.

  1. Filter icons that show which filter is due for replacement, using VOC, RO and pre-filter symbols instead of numbers.
  2. A tap tank prompt that shows when to empty and refill the tap water tank between cycles.
  3. A dedicated maintenance indicator that looks after the health of the unit itself.

The goal is not to add more features. It is to reduce friction. You spend less time cross-checking manuals and more time simply using your purifier.

Maintenance Mode that looks after your purifier

All reverse osmosis systems benefit from regular descaling, especially in hard water areas. The Classic has always included guidance on this in the owner’s manual, where slower filtration is a clear sign that a descale is due.

With the refreshed display, that guidance becomes easier to follow. The new Maintenance Mode light appears when the unit takes longer than normal to filter a full tank, which is often around thirty minutes. It is a simple cue that helps you stay ahead of limescale build-up.

This small addition protects performance over time and, for many households, makes the routine more predictable. Instead of guessing whether the flow has slowed, you receive a clear signal and can follow the usual descaling steps to bring the Classic back to its original pace.

A reassuring note for current Classic owners

If you recently bought an AquaTru Classic with the original display, you do not need to feel left behind. Your purifier uses the same 4-stage Ultra Reverse Osmosis technology as the refreshed model and delivers the same level of contaminant reduction.

The filters you use are identical. Replacement packs work across all Classic units, regardless of whether you have the earlier or updated panel.

You already benefit from the core strengths that make the Classic so popular.

The new display simply organises the familiar information in a clearer layout. If you ever decide to move to the refreshed version, your Classic will work in exactly the same way. You gain a tidier panel while the filtration you rely on remains consistent.

How it fits into the AquaTru family

Within the AquaTru range, the Classic sits alongside the compact Carafe and the built-in Under Sink system.

The refreshed display helps bring the Classic closer to the experience people know from the Carafe. You still have the larger 2.7-litre pure water tank and generous tap water capacity, which suit busy households and home offices. Now you also have an at-a-glance panel that clearly shows tank status, filter life, and maintenance needs.

If you are deciding between models, consider the space and routine that best fit your kitchen. All AquaTru systems share the same filtration performance. The difference lies in the format you prefer. And if you are unsure where to start, our quick quiz can point you towards the model that matches your lifestyle.

Small design change, everyday impact

At a glance, the new display may look like a small change. In practice, it quietly takes the guesswork out of using the Classic. With one look, you can see which filter is due for replacement, when to empty and refill the tap water tank and when a descale will keep everything running as it should.

Everything else stays reassuringly familiar. The AquaTru Classic still delivers the same trusted filtration and clean, great-tasting water that households already rely on. It is the purifier you already know, now with a front panel that is easy to read and simple to live with day-to-day.
