Apple Cider Cocktail with Cinnamon
Think twinkly lights, a cosy jumper and this in your glass. Bright, gently spiced and properly festive. Apple cider brings natural polyphenols that are being explored for cardiovascular support, including improved endothelial function in small trials. A cinnamon stick adds gentle warmth and there is emerging evidence that cinnamon can help lower fasting blood glucose in adults with type 2 diabetes, which is a nice extra in a festive drink.

What you need:
- Ice (made from clean, purified water)
- 60 ml bourbon
- 60 ml apple cider
- 2 dashes Angostura bitters

- A squeeze of fresh lemon, optional
For garnish:
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 1 apple slice
- 1 sprig fresh thyme
-
How to do it:
- Fill a rocks glass with ice. Add the bourbon, apple cider and bitters.
- Top with the ginger beer and stir gently. Add a squeeze of lemon if you like.
- Garnish with a cinnamon stick, an apple slice and thyme. Serve straight away.
Tip
