Green Detox Smoothie

Green Detox Smoothie

Some mornings call for something that feels like a proper reset. This green detox smoothie is exactly that: a vivid, ice-cold blend of spinach, kale, banana, apple, and ginger that manages to taste far more vibrant than it sounds on paper. It comes together in minutes, fills you up without weighing you down, and sets a genuinely good tone for the day ahead.

Spinach is among the most nutrient-dense leafy greens available, packed with vitamins A, C, and K, as well as iron and folate. These are nutrients that collectively support immune function, bone health, and cellular repair. Ginger, meanwhile, is no mere flavour addition. Its active compound gingerol has been widely studied for its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, making it a genuinely purposeful ingredient rather than just a finishing note.

Because this smoothie is blended raw, the quality of your liquid base matters. Using AquaTru-filtered water or coconut water ensures no trace contaminants interfere with the clean, fresh flavour you are after.

  • What you need:

    • 30 g fresh spinach leaves
    • 30 g fresh kale leaves, stems removed
    • 1 banana, peeled and sliced
    • 1 apple, cored and roughly chopped (skin on)
    • ½ cucumber, chopped
    • 1.5 cm piece of fresh ginger, peeled and finely chopped
    • 10 g chia seeds
    • 240 ml coconut water (or AquaTru-filtered water)
    • Juice of ½ lemon
    • Ice cubes, optional
  • How to do it:

    1. Add the spinach, kale, banana, apple, cucumber, ginger, chia seeds, coconut water, and lemon juice to a blender.
    2. Blend on high until smooth and creamy. If the mixture is too thick, add a splash more coconut water or filtered water until you reach your preferred consistency.
    3. Add a few ice cubes if you would like it colder, and blend again briefly.
    4. Pour into two glasses and serve immediately.

Tips: For extra protein, stir in a tablespoon of almond butter or a scoop of your preferred protein powder. Best enjoyed fresh, but can be stored in a sealed container in the fridge for up to 24 hours. Give it a good shake before drinking.
